Autumn 2003Autumn has seemed to rush upon us this year - though some plants flowered early, and a few leaves started falling before August was out - and November arrived with a flurry of activity. Suddenly, as if overnight, the trees all changed to the lovely golden-brown hues we all love at this time of year, and the Autumn winds picked up as Mother Nature helps to tidy up.
The middle picture in the bottom row shows what looks like an avenue of leaves, but was taken from the exact spot that was one of the Moorhen's nests in the Spring. Unfortunately the water from the Archery hut to the conservation area dries up throughout the Summer, to leave a small pool below Badger (as seen in the next picture).
