Great Hautbois House
Great Hautbois House is a beautiful 19th century house set in 28 acres of grounds near Norwich. With a peaceful riverside setting, it has a wealth of history and natural attractions as well as excellent indoor and outdoor facilities. The house offers comfortable accommodation, which, combined with the catering service, makes it an ideal venue for training events or simply a get-away-from-it-all break. It is an excellent base for exploring the Norfolk Broads and is only a short distance away from the coast.
Owned by Anglia Region of The Guide Association, Hautbois celebrated it's 10th anniversary as a Training and Activity Centre in 1998.

Adult Leader Training
A training programme is arranged throughout the year. Contact the house direct for a Calendar giving full details of these (or click here for the 2008 events calendar). The training rooms offer a relaxed setting and residential accommodation is available for up to 38 in a mixture of single, twin and shared rooms, most with en-suite facilities.


Leisure events
There is a programme of leisure events throughout the year - details are given in our Calendar. Hautbois is available mid-week and some weekends for County/Division/ District events, Trefoil Guild holidays, and Guide or Brownie self-catering holidays.

Conference facilities
Available all year to any organisation on either a residential or non-residential basis.

Camping
Seven unequipped campsites are available, most with flush toilets, and all with access to showers. Camping equipment is available to hire.

Outdoor activities
On-site activities include climbing, abseiling, canoeing, archery, pioneering, orienteering, a well-equipped conservation room and much more! Swimming and bike hire are available locally.

Self-catering
The main house is also available for groups to self-cater.

Accommodation
Comfortable bedrooms range from singles to rooms for up to five. We have 13 bedrooms in total and 8 of them have en-suite facilities.

Catering
Our on-site kitchen can cater for up to 60 people, and can tailor menus to individual dietary requirements. Whether you are vegetarian, have allergies or are simply on a diet, our experienced cook can meet all your needs. Our new dual-purpose dining/training room seats 60 in comfort.
