Winter 2002/2003

This was the sight that greeted us on the morning of 7th January 2003 - the first significant snowfall of the winter! The photos were taken before much traffic had left its mark, apart from the tracks of rabbits and coots, both of which are numerous on site at present.

No climbing in these conditions! You would need to break the ice to launch a kayak too.

Despite the conditions Nature decides it's time to produce her winter display! These were taken on 2nd February 2003 - the four inches of snow, which had covered the estate for three days, was starting to melt, revealing these close to the abseil tower.
